In the End

In the End is the eighth and final studio album by Irish alternative rock band The Cranberries, released on 26 April 2019 by BMG. It is the band’s first release since the death of singer Dolores O'Riordan, whose vocals are featured posthumously. The surviving instrumentalists pieced together her demos with in-studio recordings over the course of the subsequent year and worked with long-time producer Stephen Street to finalise the album. Critical reception has been positive. Wikipedia

Finality resounds on album standouts like “All Over Now,” “Lost” and “In the End” — all of which reflect the angst of Dolores O’Riordan & Co.’s classic works.

We’ll never see the likes of O’Riordan and The Cranberries again, but at least In the End is another time capsule of immortality in a world where life is fragile and painfully transient.

Many tears will surely well for the closer, In the End, in which O’Riordan admits “When everything you wanted was nothing like you wanted” in a song as beautiful as anything they’ve done.
