Show All-
Pitchfork
2010 - Weezy's latest album is neither a hint of what's to come nor a clear reminder of why we care so much in the first place.
-
Pitchfork
2013 - The possibility that Lil Wayne's new album could be overshadowed by his recent health scare is confirmed by this rote, crass reassembly of what once made him great.
-
Rolling Stone
2010 - I Am Not a Human Being is a party from the start.
-
Pretty Much Amazing
2010 - I Am Not A Human Being displays that classic Weezy swagger we've been longing for, going apeshit crazy with the assortment of sounds present.
-
Lil Wayne HQ
2012 - The production of the album is really the only upsides about it.
-
LA Times
2010 - He might want to repudiate his own humanity, but on “I’m Not a Human Being,” Wayne reveals he’s mortal after all.
-
All Music
This is too short and scattered to put on his top shelf, but it comes awfully close, which is downright astonishing considering the circumstances.
-
The Box Houston
Not letting a jail stint stop him from feeding his fans, Lil Wayne has packed his latest album with scraps and half-cooked songs that he whipped up before heading off to Rikers Island.
-
News24
2017 - Sadly his latest offering isn't anything like the excellent Tha Carter 1, 2 and 3 albums.
-
Entertainment Weekly
2010 - Wayne will no doubt start work on a new batch of rhymes for his immensely anticipated Tha Carter IV when he gets out. Let’s hope nothing this stale makes the cut.
-
Drowned in Sound
2010 - I Am Not A Human Being is a somewhat one-dimensional record.
-
Forces of Greek
2010 - The truth is he’s on okay rapper who relies to heavily on metaphors, lacks heavily in content and does enough drugs to take on this rock star persona.
-
Jimmy Ness
2011 - Much like Lil Wayne’s career, I Am Not A Human Being has moments of greatness mixed with terrible decision making.
-
Slant Magazine
2010 - I Am Not a Human Being is not a mixtape, but it’s not really an album either.
-
Keyboard Magazine
2011 - His new album is chock full of wicked riffs and truly clever lyrical wordplay.
-
American Songwriter
2010 - This is a completely superfluous release that lacks the relevance and immediacy of his mixtape works and the quality-control of his albums.
-
The Independent
2010 - It's a perfunctory affair, further fragmented on my download version by the muting of Wayne's stream of expletives, which renders large parts of it unintelligible.
-
Muxic Beats
2017 - The album has topped the chart and has done economically well but still lacks the momentum of his own albums.
-
Neon Tommy
2010 - The album is a massive improvement from the rock-disaster “Rebirth,” and Lil Wayne shows his flow is still unbeatable.
-
The Line of Best Fit
2010 - I Am Not a Human Being was clearly assembled as a placeholder.
-
Beats Per Minute
2010 - I Am Not a Human Being is an odd Lil Wayne album
-
UWire
2010 - It provides tons of quick, adoptable one-liners and is driven by raw energy.
