Rolling Stone
Beginning with the pulsing title track, which stands among Springsteen’s best work, the fourteen songs on Human Touch explore the movement from disenchanted isolation to a willingness to risk love and its attendant traumas again.

All Music
Human Touch was an uninspired Bruce Springsteen album, his first that didn't at least aspire to greatness
-
Anti Music
If there was ever an album in Springsteen's cannon I'd love to see him revisit and re-record, it would be Human Touch.

-
Entertainment Weekly
Strained and verbose, both Lucky Town and Human Touch are his most confused albums since his 1973 debut.
-
Countdown Kid
somewhat of a letdown
-
Blog Critics
There is nothing terrible here; it’s just not up to his normal standards.

Legends of Springsteen
Human Touch is only for the Bruce completists
-
NY Times
In the end, "Human Touch" and "Lucky Town" offer the twanging, stomping, pensive, troubled, well-crafted sound of retreat.

Clems Music Reviews
The "middle" of the album is very strong.

Movies and Music Reviewed
The sound is a real departure from the sound that can be heard on E Street but it isn’t always a bad thing.
