Show All-
NME
Even an allusion to the rapper's highly publicised beef with Emimen can't lift this lumpen retread of weary, tried-and-tested rap-rock tropes
-
Hiphop DX
And though one wouldn’t go so far as to call Machine Gun Kelly a “party rapper,” he’s someone whose music is quite enjoyable, and frankly, it’s nothing but a goddamn good time.

Ratings Game
Machine Gun Kelly clearly has demons in his life that he needs to address. In “Hotel Diablo,” it seems like he’s ready to take them all on from every musical angle he’s capable of dabbling in

Vinyl Chapters
The album is worth a listen and, in particular, to hear the potential the artist has in perhaps a wider range of scope and genre.

Red and Black
While MGK showed his emotional depth and vulnerability with a few raw songs in “Hotel Diablo,” he also proved his youthful qualities with his response to Eminem’s diss and his ability to still have fun with his music.
-
Hot New Hip Hop
Throughout, MGK's focus seems to be drawing in listeners with personal tales of his life struggles. Although he has developed a reputation as being a spitfire rapper, MGK doesn't rely so much on those skills here. There's a synergy of rock and rap on Hotel Diablo, but not in an annoying way that comes across too aggressive.

Sound Digest
Ultimately, the triumph in this album for MGK is the fact that he’s willing to branch out and try something different. The music industry these days is far less divided by genre than it used to be, and what ends up standing out above all else is good music.

Lemon Wire
Arguably, this recording is better than some of his earlier work. Machine Gun Kelly is diving deep into his personal history and pulling out unexpected bars.
