Homesick

American singer Trevor Daniel released his debut EP—Homesick—on October 11, 2018, through Alamo, Internet Money Records, and Interscope. This 17-minute-long EP features a single, “Falling,” along with 5 other songs that explore themes of love, heartbreak, and loneliness.

The record features simple, slow tunes in each of the songs that provide a peaceful warmth to listeners even through the sadness of the lyrics. The album had mixed reviews from critics, with many feeling that it didn’t stand out much from other songs that follow the same themes. Houston's Trevor Daniel is on the bleeding edge of alternative-hip-hop, and in his debut EP, Homesick, he crafts a top-tier combo of downcast production and introspective bars. Despite the mass of sad-boy SoundCloud rappers attempting to emulate a similar sound, Daniel sets himself apart with unique vocals and honest songwriting, making this music must-hear.
