Ultimate classic Rock
Not to sound redundant, but the rhythm section once again saves the day here.

May not be a classic, but it is more than acceptable and does shine in places.
-
Super Seventies
Those clear, linear guitar leads over busy rhythm figures, and high, simple vocals, have always been the Mac sound,

I wish this album were a little bit better, as Welch’s swansong, but it’s not terrible. In fact, it’s pretty good. It’s a nice listen.

Vulture
It would be one of the last moments of unchecked zoning out before the big hits began to roll in.
-
Daily Vault
"Coming Home” is a truly forgotten gem and one of the best Fleetwood Mac songs of the decade
-
Best Shot
Seven of the eleven songs are written by Bob Welch and none of them seem to go anywhere.

Clems Music Review
Fortunately there are a couple of bright spots if you dig hard enough. Both Welch and McVie manage to put out one strong song apiece
-
Isra Box
Bolstered by sympathetic self-production and imaginative, often aggressive arrangements that include brassy horns on the title track (a blatant but failed attempt at a hit single), the album is one of their most cohesive yet diverse.
-
FYE
Heroes is a minor gem that retains its effortless pop charms and contains some buried jewels
