Variety
An album filled with pleasures, “Here and Now” finds its moments of perfection in its two final songs, “Beautiful World” and “Guys Named Captain.”
-
Entertainment Focus
Kenny’s brand has always been broad appeal to sell to the masses and that hasn’t changed here. There’s nothing wrong with taking that approach but for me it doesn’t make particularly riveting listening. 2/5
-
EW
On his 19th studio album, the country superstar unintentionally offers a perfect collection of songs for this moment.
-
The Times
crowd-pleasing rocking and bland escapism. 2/5

All Music
these rockers, radio-ready pop tunes, beach anthems. and back porch ballads are firmly within his wheelhouse -- but does explore different emotions, giving Here and Now a quiet but real resonance. 4/5

Saving Country Music
It is better than most. Unfortunately, that still doesn’t allow Here and Now to rise to a level of being particularly “good.” 5.5/10

Your Life in a Song
Kenny’s output has been a little hit-and-miss in recent years, with the exception of the superb ‘Songs For The Saints’ album. But with ‘Here and Now’, there seems to have been a realisation of what works and what the fans crave, and it’s a sublime collection to add to his stellar back catalogue. One of the best albums of 2020 so far.

Off the Record
Chesney has packed the album with tracks that will translate incredibly well to the live circuit, along with some sweeter, more contemplative moments that round out the record.

He has a rep for being a beach and boat party person. This is a bit more serious, but it does let you just mellow out, which is what Kenny does best.
