If you like your country with Daisies and three- part harmonies, this isn't your album.

Remember Gilbert's name – he is well on his way to being country music's next Georgia-bred star.

The effort is sure to please both die-hard fans who were worried that he was going to sell out, as well as new fans, looking for a breath of fresh air

Joe X Williams
Brantley Gilbert is about as intimidating as a toy gun — just because it can make noises doesn’t mean you should take it seriously.
-
Country Schatter
Definitely something his fans are going to enjoy listening to.
-
Charleston City Paper
Radio-friendly material, but he's clever enough to balance it with a heavy dose of hard-rock and red-blooded redneck 'tude.
-
Louisville Cardinal
In every song, you’ve either been there, are there or wish you were there
-
The Patriot online
He balances the hard cuts and the ballads to produce a sound that is unlike anything currently playing
-
Roughstock
Not as close to mainstream country music as some might expect a Nashville-based label release to be yet it’s also not as far from the mainstream
-
Rocktimes
With his second album he releases a very fine record, which is very balanced and just fun.
-
All Music
Halfway to Heaven seems to mark Gilbert as a rock & roll roughneck, albeit one with the requisite soft underbelly.
-
CD Universe
Brantley Gilbert has some of the best songs to date. His songs touch home. He is going to be a star.
-
Slacker
Gilbert has cited the influence of fellow Georgians R.E.M. and the B-52's, these inspirations are inaudible on his second album, Halfway to Heaven
-
Ultimate Guitar
This is a very solid country album.
-
FYE
The kind of tunes that seem tailor-made for the top of the country charts, and they're obviously a part of what Gilbert is about
-
Worldcat
His latest is a rock-infused countrified album sure to win praise from fans who appreciate songs of heartache, trials, and triumph.
