  • Bringing Country Closer

I feel like Greetings from…Jake is a strange, yet profound, combination of Owen coming back to his roots and reinventing himself all at the same time. It’s the coolest thing ever. I bet it’s good to be Jake Owen right now.

It’s a perfect time to release the album as the days are lengthening and the weather is warming up. I can’t remember the last time I heard an album with so much sunshine in it. If you’re going to listen to it, take my advice – remember to drink plenty of fluids, and you’re probably going to want to have some factor 30 sun cream handy.

Ultimately, this is half a party-album – perfect for the red solo cup waving gigs of summer (plastic see-through cups should we see Owen in the UK) – and half about soul searching and about growing up and finding love & contentment.

  • Sounds Like Nashville

Jake Owen fully embraces the “good vibes only” mentality on his latest album Greetings…from Jake.

  • Country Standard Time

"Greetings From...Jake" is not a completely traditional country music album, but Owen's drawly singing and the steel guitar - which particularly colors "Damn" - make this one surprisingly rewarding listening experiences.

Greetings From…Jake is a journey into the prerequisite small town for fishing and beer and tequila drinking at a party you want to be at. Owen is convincing enough that grabbing a significant other to live vicariously through the music at a park on a warm spring day seems not only necessary, but should happen immediately.

  • All Music

Modesty becomes Owen: the music flows with insouciance, and his singing seems friendly and just slightly sly, qualities that help make his taste for corn seem endearing, not embarrassing.

  • Your Life In A Song

Owen has re-discovered a sense of freedom and fun with Big Loud Records but that is balanced out on ‘Greetings…’ by him embracing aging, embracing his stature as a soon to be father of two and reflecting a little more on his origins and what he wants the next phase of his life to be about. It’s a perfect mix of 90’s cheeky Country vibes and reflective musings of the meaning of life and as an album as a whole.

  • The Musical Divide

With the winds changing direction in Nashville and Owen already capturing two hits from this album, I’d say there’s certainly still a place for him.

We could highlight literally every song on this project, it is probably his best album yet. So find some sun, grab a cold one, and crank up this album you won’t be skipping any of the 14 tracks.

The preview of the new album proved that this project is stacked with feel-good country anthems layered with clever lyrics that maintain that easy breezy vibe that Jake Owen fans have come to expect.
