Riff Magazine
A Good Person is a decent effort that doesn’t really leave a lasting mark, either way.

Off the Record
It’s raw and real, but more than anything Good Person is immensely hopeful and it is this that makes it so charming as a sophomore project.
-
The Nash News
Just like the LP's opener, there's an ethereal essence built from Andress' experimentation with instrumentation, blending contemporary, muffled synth sounds with piano pulses, light strings, and the occasional wail of a steel guitar.

Entertainment Focus
Overall ‘Good Person’ feels like a great leap forward for Andress as a songwriter, mixing honest and vulnerable lyrics with a blend of country and pop influences. She’s delivered an incredible sense of storytelling throughout and the project feels like an intimate insight into dealing with existential crises and facing the difficult parts of life, as well as how those help us all to grow as people. It’s one of my favourite albums of the year so far and I cannot wait to see her performing it live, as well as where she’s going to go from here.

Holler Country
Good Person is at its best when Andress is uncertain yet willing to sing through it, like on closer ‘Things That Haven’t Happened Yet’. At the chorus’ end Andress utters the title in a half-spoken voice, shining as a subtle mantra. It’s by no means her best release, but its occasional promise leaves us hopeful that she’ll have a more potent batch of songs next time around.

Country Swag
For Ingrid Andress, the journey is far from over, and we’re certainly here for it. If Good Person is any indication, it’s certain to be a beautiful – and occasionally bumpy – ride.

The Musical Divide
But between a firmer handle on her sound and writing that’s overall more refined and the real unsung hero here – even if there isn’t a song here I like quite as much as “More Hearts Than Mine,” though “Yearbook” comes close – this is a solid winner. I’m really hoping for a rebound here.

Spectrum Culture
There's no such thing as a sophomore slump – and this album is too good to be one – but this second record suggests its creator may be in the phase of her career where she's simply laying a foundation. It's solid groundwork, but what comes next might be far more interesting. It might just be Andress' moment.

One Spin Music
Andress’s chosen mix of styles and knack for clever storytelling continues to impress on Good Person. Although not a great leap forward from her first album, the quality remains high as she masters the art of balancing catchy melody with not-too-heavy emotions, even if her lyrics tackle some weighty topics. Whether she possesses the star appeal to break into the upper echelon of pop prominence remains to be seen, but for now Andress and country fans should enjoy this second LP.
