Thirstkey
"Fuck The World" states how it feels right in it's title and unapologetically at that. It's Brent Faiyaz at his most confident and self assured. It's structurally questionable at times (were the interlude and outro really necessary on an already short EP?) but musically varied and consistently performed.
-
Pitchfork
The Maryland crooner’s dreamy R&B portrays a world where sex is a game and there are no consequences for anything.
-
Medium
“F*ck The World” does its job in defying expectations to reveal one’s truth for the sake of doing so and not for approval. This project gets a solid 8 out of 10 for that alone.
-
Vibe My Life
Faiyaz’s latest album Fuck the World is an unforgettable adrenaline rush honesty for those that might be too conflicted with themselves to consider fully committing to someone else.
-
This Song Is Sick
Fuck The World is a toxic silhouette that is shadowed by Brent's captivating vocals. The instrumentals compliment the same druggy, ritzy perspective that Brent speaks from as he tells his side of the story. If this isn't looked back at to be one of this year's best projects, it will be blatant disrespect.
-
No Gossip
This project is Brent asking us all the hard life questions most of us dwell on everyday, but his voice mixed with the production brings you into such an elevated state you forget about all your worries.
-
Earmilk
There's an inescapable sense of self-awareness that makes this project so special.
-
Hip Hop Hopscotch
Overall, Brent's third EP is a relatable, short project with chilled vibes allowing you to get lost in the music. It has a few great tracks, many good tracks and only a handful of low points - and has made quite the impression on me. Just wish it was more compelling at times.
-
The Diamondback
As a cohesive body of work, “Fuck the World” features incredibly intricate and spacious voice layering, sonically consistent with previous projects such as group effort “Into” by Sonder. Instrumentally, an array of hypnotic drums and bass, heavy percussion and low synths back Faiyaz, who leaves just enough room for thought between each bar.

News Break
Brent Faiyaz’s ‘Fuck the World’ is intricate and impressive.
-
Exclaim
Here, Faiyaz perfects his knack for juxtaposition by mixing aggressive, rap-leaning quips with dulcet tones that, together, create a unique sound only he can deliver.
-
Hit Up Ange
At only 27 minutes long, this LP leave you wanting more and is easy to have on repeat as every listen reveals something new. This album sounds fresh and relevant, all the while Brent doesn’t stray from his personal style and from what made his fans love him in the first place.

Vice
Brent Faiyaz's 'Fuck the World' Makes Life's Tough Questions Sound Sexy.

Iowa State Daily
This album is great for late nights where “adult business” goes on. This is truly an album for young adults of the modern age who not only have freedom from their childhood homes and parents but those who are in the early stages of self-dependance; young adults who don’t need to go out and party every night, but those who get off work late, grab a bottle of wine to go home to see someone special for some late-night cardio.
-
Vashtie
The 10-track project offers something different and refreshing in today’s R&B as he continues to find ways to effortlessly say “Fuck The World” through music.
-
Niner Times
Faiyaz’s latest body of work seems stunted; it is no different than what he has done before. In order to grow as an artist, Faiyaz needs to expand on his context and sound. “Fuck The World” is merely a stepping stone for Faiyaz’s true artistry to unfold.
-
The Sound Sports
It's a nonissue if the goal of Brent Faiyaz is to only have his cult following, but his experimentation on the majority of the project suggests he wants more. And considering how well the product was on the songs he did step out of his box, Faiyaz's cult following may only have a few more months until they lose their favorite to R&B superstardom.
-
Pop Dust
"F*ck The World" is the equivalent to lighting a joint on a dreary Sunday afternoon.
-
The Wake
Ultimately, his EP poses as a testament to the idea that a beautiful voice doesn’t equate to beautiful music.
