FROM ST. LOUIE TO FRISCO

From St. Louie to Frisco is the twelfth studio album by Chuck Berry, released in 1968 by Mercury Records. One track on the album, "My Tambourine", is the same tune as Berry's later hit for Chess Records, "My Ding-a-Ling", but with less risque lyrics. The Sir Douglas Quintet backed Berry on parts of this album. - WIKIPEDIA

Chuck Berry's fourth in a five-LP set released during his stay at Mercury is only partly successful, with a handful of genuinely good songs -- the rocking "Misery," the rollicking "Mum's the Word," and the ravishing "Song of My Love".

The first half of this double LP is the blues. The soulful, moving, and a little depressing but in a good way kind of blues. The second half of this album is Chuck Berry studio recordings. His guitar work is superb.
