  • Pitchfork

The Danish electro-pop chart-topper’s second album is dedicated to the quest for eternal youth; too often, though, her overbearing club songs merely kick against the onset of adulthood.

This intriguingly offbeat artist is best known for her Major Lazer collabs, but this bold album proves she's much more than someone to lean on.

It’s certainly too damp a squib to break Mø out of her strange forever hinterland of almost-there.

With hits like these, songwriting as accomplished as this and production as tight as this, it surely matters little either way.

In some ways, this album feels less like a follow up and more like a rebirth. MØ has grown into her own – even if she doesn’t feel like she’s done much growing up.

As far as electro-pop albums go, they don’t get much better than Forever Neverland.

MØ could have probably kept releasing big, untethered electro-pop singles without breathing a word of an accompanying album, and few would have had cause to complain.

While this follow-up is by that nature much closer to her recent singles than her indie crafts from the past, it’s raw emotion and generally unique hits.

MØ’s sophomore album is a fun listen, but only when her vocals sound authentically her.

Despite decent guest appearances by Diplo and Charli XCX, this is an artist who doesn’t depend on such support, having developed a strong signature sound with husky, world-weary vocals at the forefront.
