  • Sounds of Nashville

2017 - The much-anticipated album showcases their strong voices and undeniable passion, but it lacks a sense of depth one would expect on a project from two of the genre’s biggest acts.

2017 - None of it is worth my time, and that’s a real shame because if you listen to any of the seven songs listed at the top, you’ll understand what this record could have been–and be sorry it wasn’t.

2017 - And these songs are true duets, with both of them singing in unison or harmony much of the time. That makes the album a little ballad-heavy, though considering how well their voices fit together, it’s not really a drawback.

2017 - They are two of the biggest acts in country music with a pocket full of hit songs between the both of them, but most of the songs on this album are forgettable and won’t be hits.

2018 - Ultimately, the album works because McGraw and Hill put aside their own musical stylings as soloists and come together to form a new brand of music.

  • Saving Country Music

2017 - It’s background music at best, destined to be seriously forgotten in pretty short order for the legacies both artists have forged on their own.

  • The Musical Hype

2017 - Perhaps The Rest of Our Life doesn’t break new ground for either veteran artist, but it does find both contributing to an enjoyable, well-rounded country album.

After 20 years of marriage, they still seem smitten with each other, and that palpable affection is not only endearing, it sustains the album.

  • Renowned for Sound

2017 - The energy though is admirable, dialling up the youthful flair of McGraw and Faith’s young spirits.

2018 - But as it stands, The Rest of Our Lives is beneath both of them. They’ve more than proven they can do a heck of a lot better than they do here.

  • Your Life in a Song

2017 - There are extended musical outros in a number of songs and it feels like it has been lovingly curated by the team involved in its creation. Tim McGraw is great, Faith Hill is simply outstanding and it will be a privilege to see them sing these songs.

2017 - Again, it's got too many weird choices to be smooth background music and yet is way too polished and tepid to really earn them. I'd say if you're morbidly curious have a listen, but otherwise... no, there's better things to do.

  • The Musical Hype

2017 - All in all, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill shine on “The Rest of Our Life.” Listening, it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. Both artists sing well separately and blend excellently together. One of the biggest surprises – the McGraw falsetto. The songwriting is superb.
