Critic Reviews
Show All-
Pitchfork
a McCartney record where you can sense his need to be loved.

Wilson & Alroy's Record Review
It's not bad or anything - the melodies are pretty, the arrangements are professional and occasionally interesting - but there's no vitality here, and plenty of clichés.
-
Adrian Denning
suffers from poor sequencing and padding. It's no disaster, don't get me wrong. Yet, I don't reach for this very often.
-
Don Ignacio
The most unfortunate fact of them all is this album lacks a great single.

ALL MUSIC
McCartney meanders a bit, writing songs that are more notable for what they try to achieve than what they do, and at times the production is too fussy and inextricably tied to its time, but as a self-styled comeback affair, Flowers in the Dirt works very well.

Some nice songs.
