NME
A candid and richly detailed document of life in the spotlight, this long-awaited solo album suggests Offset is the Migo best-placed for solo superstardom.
-
Pitchfork
Though it’s undermined by its inertia and lack of focus, Offset’s solo debut offers glimpses of the rapper as a compelling storyteller and bluesman.
-
DJ Booth
FATHER OF 4 is an album of great intentions but lacks in manifesting its ideas into great songs
-
HipHop DX
Offset may be easier to say than Kiari Cephus, but on Father of 4, the man behind the gaudy ice pendants and random gossip headlines dominates the spotlight.
-
Highsnobiety
Even if the execution of Father of 4 isn’t always perfect, It could well prove to be the most important Migos album, marking a turning point where the group heads off in a different direction and grounds itself more in adult themes.
-
Odyssey
Time will tell if he can withstand a full year of albums to grant him a Grammy nomination for Best Album or even win the award itself, but through two months of the year, "FATHER OF 4" has won the award with flying colors.

Ratings Game Music
I thought this project was deep, it was pure, riveting and a lot of fun to listen to.
-
EW
Offset explains himself to mixed success on Father of 4.
-
Thirstkey
There are only a handful of songs on this album I’ll be returning to, but that’s more than I can say for anything else I’ve heard from Offset outside of “Without Warning”.
-
The Atlantic
Father of 4 does deliver substance, though sometimes it can be hard to separate actual weightiness from the mere appearance of it.
-
Nappyafro
There are some good songs on this project and seeing the growth of Offset is cool thing. But a change in execution on some songs, as well as some songs that should’ve been left on the cutting room floor, were needed to push this album to another level. Either way, Offset should be a proud FATHER.
-
Legends Will Never Die
The lyrics are a lot more personal surprisingly, it’s more well-produced & it seems like they actually focused more on quality over quantity.
-
Medium
I did enjoy Father of 4 and think that it’s the best solo project from the Migos. Metro brought some of the best out of Offset and the features were on point. It’s addicting to listen to Offset rap, especially on these beats
-
Cope Cause We Said
Overall, this album was good and has solidified Offset as my personal favorite member of the Migos.
-
SofloSound
Father of 4 isn’t bad. It’s actually a listenable effort, and had much more heart behind its creation than other Migos solo projects. But heart and more personal lyrics can only get you so far when you don’t have the great beats, performances, or features to back it up. As it is, Father of 4 is just…okay.
-
All Music
While Father of 4 is still far more interesting and better constructed than most other Migos-related solo offerings, it re-enforces the notion that the group's chemistry is a stronger force than any one of its individual members' talents.
-
KZSC
Offset’s FATHER OF 4 is nothing groundbreaking, but the album’s introspective and personal feel makes it stand out over the other two Migos solo outings and makes us more hopeful for future solo work by the father of four.
-
Street Stalkin
On Father Of four, Offset delivers his full story– no less than, so far. Offset abandons the protect that he’s held in entrance of his persona for therefore lengthy, giving us an correct portrayal of Kiari Kendrell Cephus, flaws and all.
-
The Royal Page
Overall, the intent of the album to go deeper into the mind and struggles of the artist is a good concept in theory, the execution leaves more to be desired. While I don’t think it’s a bad album, it does feel a little repetitive and lazy at times.
-
The Daily Nebraskan
With a shift in content from a typical Migos album, Offset ran the risk of failure with “FATHER OF 4.” Instead of failing, he came away with an introspective and cohesive album.
-
HNHH
The album, in a way, is Offset’s coming of age story from getting it out the mud to his current peak of mainstream success. Southside’s production maintains the grit of trap while Metro’s symphonic production adds an eloquence that parallels Offset’s rise from the bottom.

Immortal Reviews
Offset delivers some strong tracks on his debut record FATHER OF 4, but still doesn’t quite meet the mark. A majority of the record remains forgettable, but it’s refreshing to hear some actually impressive tracks from anyone from the Migos camp. Perhaps 2019 has a lot left to offer from them.
-
The Miami Student
Offset doesn't always put his best foot forward, musically or lyrically, in this album. "Father of 4" can't help but feel like missed potential. More consistent storytelling, dynamic production, and creative songwriting could make for a more rewarding listen. For now, we're left with a taste of what could be.
-
Exclaim
Offset's level of growth and candour on Father of 4 is that of an MC making leaps and bounds, both in his music and his personal life.
-
COS
Offset has proven he can carry his own solo album, and you have to respect the work ethic that produced these 16 tracks, even if many of them don’t merit a second listen.
-
Radio
Offset might not have been the first Avenger out of the gate, but FATHER OF 4 is certainly the strongest of these solo adventures.
-
Uproxx
For most, it’ll be a novelty item whose novelty hasn’t quite worn off enough to call it “disposable” — to quote a certain Netflix star, Father Of 4 sparks just enough joy to hold onto, if only for its sentimental moments.
-
Entertainment Voice
If you like Offset’s sound, his new record delivers sixteen new tracks of the same sound — with a few slight sonic detours for variety.
-
The Torch
Overall, Offset’s Father of 4 is a solid album with great tracks all around.
-
ET Inside
Offset splits his time between personal stories and generalized trapping, with mixed results. When he finds the right flow, few can match him for sheer musical joy.
-
VistaNow
Father of 4 Portrays a different emotion unique to Offset, but still with the same desired “Migo Flow,” in my personal favorite solo album done by one of the Migos.
