Pearce first turned heads with her ballad "Every Little Thing." Its naked arrangement stood out amidst the dense, driving production relied on by many of her contemporaries, summoning a slow-burning impact not unlike Cam's "Burning House" and Little Big Town's "Girl Crush" have in recent years. Pearce's song, one of eight on the album that she co-wrote, deploys distinctive textures: a muffled, minimalistic drum pattern and a bruised, lilting melody traced by piano and dobro.

"Every Little Thing" is an unexpected hit because it's so far left of the center of country radio. Her bluegrass inspirations mix with an orchestral production in a way not replicated elsewhere on this album. In fact one will find pop-leanings and a few songs like "Catch Fire" that simply serve as bridges to the next great emotion.

  • Sounds like Nashville

Carly Pearce’s debut album is a fresh breath of country air that makes a bold statement for the rising singer on the male-dominated landscape of the genre. She mixes her Kentucky-roots with modern country to create an exciting album that is stacked with singles that have the potential to soar on country radio as well as deep cuts that hit close to home.

Every Little Thing is a record that expands on the hit title song’s theme of life and love and the meaning of and that’s really where the album sits thematically. It’s a record about relationships, a very good one, at that.

overall, this is a mixed effort. It’s literally half promising and half discouraging. You can tell that Carly Pearce made an effort to bring songs of substance to this project, and you can also see that she can blend pop and country well if given the chance. But there’s also the mark of Nashville and pop producers littered all over this record, and often, Carly’s individuality is forsaken for misguided attempts at popularity.

Carly Pearce’s debut album, ‘Every Little Thing, ’ is certainly not something you would expect from a newcomer. This album is full of amazing songs that have maturity, talent, and patience behind them.

  • Building Our Own Nashville

Every Little Thing is one of those albums where your favourite track changes the more you listen to it until you get to the point that every track is embedded into your brain and you proudly know every word to every song and I am already getting to that point.

Every Little Thing is a stunning debut from Carly Pearce. If you thought Every Little Thing the song was special, just wait until you here the full-length record. Pearce is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in Country music this year and she’s right alongside Kelsea Ballerini and Lauren Alaina in leading the charge of female artists getting the attention, and praise, they have long deserved.

Pearce’s album just begs to be the soundtrack of your muggy summer nights with the windows rolled down. So give it a listen.

  • All Music

Every Little Thing works as well as it does because of its expert sequencing. Sliding from the woozy grooves of "Hide the Wine" to the urgent romance of "Careless" with ease, the album takes time for delicate ballads and stops at the precise moment for the stomping blues "Catch Fire." Through it all, Pearce establishes her own identity: her showbiz and country roots are inextricably entangled, a singer with a feel for the past but an eye for the present.

  • Celeb Mix

‘Every Little Thing’ is reminiscent of Shania Twain’s earlier work on ‘The Woman In Me’ album, while the US star’s vocal tone has shades of Hayden Panettier and Crissie Rhodes of The Shires which is a very good thing indeed.

This album successfully marries the relationship between bluegrass country and pop worlds in a way that is lacking is today’s country music. Her voice is so pure. Talent like her’s make it easy to listen to the entire album from start to finish. Every Little Thing is such a great debut album that Carly should be so proud of. The hard work and time that was put in it is so evident.
