Elton John
| Elton JohnElton John
Elton John is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Elton John, released on 10 April 1970 by DJM Records. It was released by Uni Records as John’s debut album in the United States; many people there assumed it was his first album, as Empty Sky was not released in that country until 1975. Elton John includes his breakthrough single “Your Song”, and helped to establish his career during what was considered the “singer-songwriter” era of popular music. -Wikipedia

Rolling Stone
So immense a talent is Elton’s that he’ll delight you senseless despite it all.
-
Rolling Stone
It gave him his first hit with “Your Song,” but highlights like “Take Me to the Pilot” and “The King Must Die” show his still-developing weirdo side.
-
All Music
Elton John remains one of his best records.

Ultimate Classic Rock
Hints as to the musical journey that John and Taupin were just about to begin.

Only Solitaire
This album captures him like nothing else - everything he had in the early Seventies, all the good and bad sides. Thus, it's a unique record in some way, and well worth owning for any rock collector.

Don Ignacio's Music Reviews
This is nothing if it isn't a bona fide classic.

It offers at least one great lyric (about a newborn baby brother), several nice romantic ballads (I don't like its affected offhandedness, but "Your Song" is an instant standard), and a surprising complement of memorable tracks.
