DYNASTY
| KissDYNASTY
Dynasty is the seventh studio album by American rock band Kiss, produced by Vini Poncia and released on Casablanca Records on May 23, 1979. It marked the first time that the original four members of Kiss did not all appear together for the entire album. In later interviews, the band admitted that they started to listen to outsiders about what direction the music should go around the time of Dynasty. -Wikipedia

I don't quite agree with everyone who says that Dynasty was a below-par Kiss album

2014 - a pretty good album

Strange record, but great! First of all, it's known as their "disco" record

this new twist is certainly 'dumb disco', and without a saving touch of humor to redeem it, but hey, there's been worse disco songs written

You can’t blame these guys for trying, but the respect they so earnestly crave is far more than just a kiss away.

Dynasty was the hit it needed to be, but the situation was not sustainable.

Included is their hit disco experiment, "I Was Made for Loving You" (which was no better or worse than any other rock-meets-disco experiment of the late '70s), as well as "Sure Know Something," a melodic pop/rocker that should have also been a smash.

Decibel Geek
2016 - Not loved by many fans, Dynasty is one of my favourite KISS albums and encapsulated a moment in time when excess was all the rage! A perfect time for an excessive band!

Bang Your Head
2013 - "Dynasty" is a good album. It is certainly not KISS' best, but it closes their first decade with some strong songwriting, despite feeling very fragmented as a result of the band's solo sojourns.

Poffy's Movie Mania
2015 - There are only a few songs on Dynasty that bite; all the rest are notable for their construction and unique production, but are throwaways as KISS songs.

The Rock Pit
they went left field, glossed things up and introduced a slice of disco to the proceedings
