The Vinyl District
2014 - The real problem with Double Fantasy is that it’s one truly bad LP, and that’s not fantasy, but fact.
-
BBC
2010 - A far tougher record than is understood by those who have only heard the singles.
-
All Music
According to some reports, that perception was a bit of a fantasy, but sometimes the fantasy means more than the reality, and that's certainly the case here.
-
Classic Rock Review
2015 - The end result was an album of personally focused material with an underlying theme about a man and woman who found each other years into their relationship.
-
Popmatters
2010 - While it might seem sacrilegious to say it, John Lennon's last album wasn't the watershed it was supposed to be. In fact, it's really not very good.

Sputnik Music
2011 - Seriously, fuck you Yoko.
-
The Guardian
2013 - Double Fantasy is a curious mix of mature love songs and whimsical nods to the past.
-
Slant Magazine
2010 - These records are obligatory music that no interpretative drill can dismantle.
-
Popdose
2010 - It was, in so many ways, the sound of someone finally coming into his own with a sense of peace and freedom from a legacy he himself fashioned.
-
Iccon Fetch
2010 - It’s impossible to listen to all the way through, because every other track is a Yoko Ono song (apparently it was her idea).
-
Something Else
2010 - Double Fantasy never felt dangerous enough to be a great John Lennon record, but there is much to recommend.
-
Red Dirt Report
2010 - It’s just a tragedy the world wasn’t allowed to find out what other musical masterpieces John and Yoko had in mind.
