Dearly Beloved
| DaughtryDearly Beloved
Dearly Beloved is the sixth studio album by American rock band Daughtry, released on September 17, 2021, through Dogtree Records. It is their first studio album in three years since Cage to Rattle in 2018, and their first album not to be released by RCA Records. A Dearly Beloved Tour would start in November 2021 and feature Sevendust and Tremonti as co-headlineres, however, due to the sudden death of Chris Daughtry's step-daughter, the first shows were rescheduled. -Wikipedia

The song writing is excellent, the production is outstanding – space where it’s needed and over the top ‘chuck everything in’ where that’s needed too – and then there are the vocals! Daughtry has always had one helluva voice, but his performance on this album is utterly outstanding! If you’re a fan of his earlier work and had written him off, for goodness sake give him another chance as this album deserves to sell bucket loads. Absolutely brilliant!

Cryptic Rock
You could say that Daughtry has created a fitting soundtrack for heartache and heartbreak. Each moment digs deep underneath your skin and will touch your heart in one way or another. The slower, melancholic tunes might cause some sobs, or at least some sighs, especially closing track “Break Into My Heart,” which leaves behind a void. So, let Daughtry take you by the hand (and heart), and perhaps consider getting a new bucket of ice cream before you press play again… because it is is going to be an emotional journey.

If this is the sonic standard to meet or surpass for next time, the follow-up to this record is going to be one to look amply forward to. If one thing’s clear here (for lack of a better summarizing quip), it’s not over for Daughtry and won’t be for a long time.

Daughtry f*cking showed out on Dearly Beloved. A generational vocal talent squandered years of his abilities for the sake of analytics, but no more. He's back to doing what he does best. Welcome back, Chris. Tell the boys what a good job they did too. Album of the year. You can't change my mind.

“Dearly Beloved” is like a multi-faceted diamond. As you turn it, the light hits each side differently. Here, every song shows a different take on that broad and amazing genre of rock music. There are moments that are more than recalcitrant of the grunge era of the nineties; there are moments that are softer; there are ballads and breaths of fresh air; there is build and release, all infused and entwined with passionate pleas and those tremendous gut-wrenching vocals. “Dearly Beloved” might just be Daughtry’s best overall record since their self-titled debut in 2006.

Some might say ‘Dearly Beloved’ offers a semblance of sanity. Musically and lyrically, it plays it safe at almost every turn. Thankfully, only almost. And it is those memorable moments which ask questions of the safer ones.

Drew's Reviews
A well-crafted album, Dearly Beloved employs a straight froward approach to hard rock blending the modern rock sounds that emerged nearly 20 years ago with the heavier but more refined sound from the 80s in a style and artistry all their own while confidently adding a restrained approach for balance.

Well done Daughtry for this new album, looking forward to see which songs become official radio singles as the months progress.

RockFusion
From start to finish Dearly Beloved is an incredible return to form and going back to his roots, without a bad song on the whole album that he hasn’t forgotten how to produce stadium filling rock anthems.

Decent release, but as of right now, I don´t think that this album will stand out the same way as some of the previous releases from this artist. Even as a stand-alone album not judging compared to previous releases.
