CREATURES OF THE NIGHT
| KissCREATURES OF THE NIGHT
Creatures of the Night is the tenth studio album by American heavy metal band Kiss, released in 1982. It is the band's last for Casablanca Records, the only label for which Kiss had recorded up to this point. The album was dedicated to the memory of Casablanca founder and early Kiss supporter Neil Bogart, who had died of cancer during the recording sessions. It is also the band's last album recorded with Ace Frehley credited as an official member (until 1998's Psycho Circus), and its first album with Vinnie Vincent as the initially uncredited lead guitarist (Vincent would later be credited but not featured on the cover of the 1985 reissue of the album). It was also the band's last album to feature the band with their trademark makeup until Psycho Circus was released. -Wikipedia

Rolling Stone
What it really signaled, however, was the birth of an entirely new Kiss, one now encased in an Eighties-appropriate metallic sheen.

they'd finally abandoned all those miserable attempts at art-rock and pop-rock that plagued their previous three works and instead focused on what it was that supposedly made these guys great in the first place: that is, FRIGGIN' LOUD GUITAR MUSIC.

Hokey Blog!
2013 - Creatures Of The Night is one of the great ’80s hard rock albums. And easily one of the best Kiss records.

Mark's Record Reviews
Luckily, a young gent by the fake name of Vinnie Vincent helped the guys write three absolutely KILLER tunes

2018 - When the smoke cleared at the end of this album, the message was obvious - KISS was firing on all cylinders again, and they had enough ammunition to kick your ass into next week!

Sleaze Roxx
What the album certainly possesses is a playability that works from start to finish. Not a bad track on the album and together it all fits.

All Music
contains very little filler and sounds as if Kiss had been reborn (it also includes one of the heaviest drum sounds ever captured in the studio by any rock band).

The internal problems with Kiss continued full-bore into their next album, the surprisingly powerful Creatures of the Night.

2015 - Creatures of the Night is arguably one of the best albums the band ever recorded
-
Decibel Geek
2015 - The record holds up. The drum sound is still Mt. Everest of percussion recording.

Melodic.net
Creatures of the Night" was the album that started a whole new chapter in kisstory. A heavier sounding but still melodic edge was to be used in the next three or for years

World Metal Domination
2018 - Yes, as with every Kiss album, it does have its dull moments, but these are massively overshadowed by some excellent songs. Moreover, it is the more consistent Kiss albums and deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as ‘Destroyer’, ‘Alive’ and ‘Alive II’.

Play It Loud Forever
2012 - The Creatures Of The Night album delivered on KISS’ promise to their fans to make a heavy record after a string of weak sauce efforts.
-
Poffy's Movie Mania
2015 - KISS needed to break back into the genre they had ruled, that they had unwittingly locked themselves out of. Creatures succeeded.

Paste Magazine
2007 - Sure it's ridiculous - this is a band that used to spit fake blood and light each other on fire, after all. But at the core of their presentation is some mostly killer, always hilarious rock 'n' roll.

Paulelmo's Blog
2018 - What they got was a win, but it really wasn’t. They got a win in that they released what is arguably one of the best rock and roll albums they ever recorded, but they lost when it came to sales.

Amps and green Screens
2013 - As soon as you hear the opening drums of “Creatures of the Night” you just know that all hell’s about to break loose
-
Vents Magazine
2017 - Creatures of the Night is a powerful musical and individual statement that doesn’t pull a single punch.
