Even though I’d have to go with From King to a God for my Album of the Year pick so far, this is just as great in my personal opinion. The production Hit-Boy brings to the table is somewhat more glamorous & clean in comparison to Tana Talk 3 & The Plugs I Met, but it manages to suit Benny well as we get to hear him at his most mature.

With Burden Of Proof, Griselda Records finally finds that last element. Now, it’s up to the group to capitalize on the moment. While they’ve proven countless times — literally, I can’t count all their releases over the last five years, let alone their entire 10-year existence — that they can absolutely dominate their lane, they’ll truly flourish when they start to experiment, trying new sounds and pushing the boundaries of what constitutes the “Griselda sound” with an expended palette that can appeal to more than just fans of murky samples and tough talk. Hip-hop is bigger and more diverse than ever and now they have proof that they can be too.

“Burden of Proof” by Benny the Butcher is a stellar performance and a strong contender for the year’s album. The album’s five stars are a treasure for hip hop fans to appreciate today and years to come. Benny The Butcher delivers the album with memorable verses.

‘Burden Of Proof’ pushes Benny The Butcher back to the forefront, and offers further evidence that Griselda is one of the most vital labels in North American hip-hop right now.

Beats Per Minute
It’s a busy record for sure, but it makes for an exhilarating listen front to back. At less than 40 minutes, it’s also one of the most compact rap albums of the year, running more like a singer-songwriter level of conciseness and less of an over-zealous rapper. With talent like this, it’s no wonder Griselda is prepped for world domination, and the hits are expected to keep coming.

Stumblings and Rumblings
Burden of Proof is an album that took me back to when rap was about honing your craft and making the music that is indeed timeless (no pun intended). This will be an album that will stay in rotation for years to come.

Pitchfork
On his latest project, the Griselda Records rapper reflects on old battle scars and new riches over luxury beats helmed by Hit-Boy. Though he occasionally steps into cosplay, the result is ambitious.

The Post
The evident soul-searching that Benny does on the project is at a level that has rarely been seen from him or his peers. Burden of Proof is arguably the most complete project from any Griselda member, as Benny expresses all aspects of his life, both past and present.

To conclude, everything on this album is good to great, and I really do enjoy everything and it's a standout Griselda project of 2020. The production is solid, the rapping gives us an enjoyable listen and Benny delivered and it's definitely a contender for top 10 of the year.

"Burden Of Proof" Is Benny The Butcher at his best when I didn't think he could get any better. No matter what he's rapping on or about, his pen is one of the strongest and sharpest in hip-hop today. Accentuated all the more by Hit-Boy's immaculate production.

Benny The Butcher really comes in and kills it.

Dope Cause We Said
Benny’s words are as poetic as they are raw. There are light moments, and there are dark, with genuine emotion through them all. The cohesion in this album is undeniable, and while there’s not too many minimalist, slowed down tracks, we almost prefer to see this artist flex his breath control and impressively delivered lyricism. In an album studded with celebrity features, Benny the Butcher is still the biggest star.

What You Expect?
When it's all said and done it could be a bonafide classic. As of now, a Grammy nomination from this album seems to be in order and I think that of all the Griselda releases this yea, this is the one that gets them that.
