Between the Buttons

Between the Buttons is the fifth British and seventh American studio album by The Rolling Stones, released on 20 January 1967 in the UK and 11 February in the US as the follow-up to Aftermath. It was the beginning of the Stones' brief foray into psychedelia. In 2012, the American version of Between the Buttons, which included "Let's Spend the Night Together" and "Ruby Tuesday", was ranked #357 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. -Wikipedia

The Stones make you feel their presence in a way that is so immediate, so essential, so relevant, that one can’t turn his mind away from what they’re doing.

Between the Buttons’ best moments – Connection, Miss Amanda Jones, Back Street Girl – tellingly cleave closest to the band’s original blueprint.

There are some high points here (cleverly produced Jagger-Richards hits like "Yesterday's Papers" and the Dylan send up "Who's Been Sleeping Here?"; the foot-stomping "Miss Amanda Jones"), but also a lot of second-rate rockers

'Between The Buttons' is so simple yet so full of melody. So easily listenable, it creates a rare form a genius without even trying.

What I care about is Between the Buttons has melodies, melodies, melodies. It has a lot of spirit, also, which is something that can easily be overlooked.
