  • Rolling Stone

The sound on Baptized somehow links U2 to Rascal Flatts, adding Springsteen stances in “Wild Heart.”

  • POP! Goes the the Charts

They may be purified in pure pop on this release, but don’t count them out in this race; “it’s not over” for Daughtry on the charts… yet.

It’s mainstream, but it’s good. The album has some ups and downs but it's worth to check it. If you know the older Daughtry I recommend to listen to the album first. A small disappointment stays since the expectations have been higher.

  • Renowned for Sound

Overall, Baptized is a little different for people that have followed the post-grunge roots from Daughtry’s previously released albums but in all honesty, it really does illustrate the hard work and effort put into this album and Martin Johnson should be credited for helping the band successfully reach that strong pop rock focus in this album.

Baptized isn’t a bad album. Just don’t call it rock and roll.

Baptized is classic rock but with a pop edge. Its subtle, its lyrical and moving.

‘Baptized’ smacks of panic and seeks to capitalize on the mainstream success of bands within the pop genre.

Daughtry were brave to try something else here, but whether or not it was the right decision to make is up for debate.

If there was anything unfavourable about this album, you might say it was the fact that a few of the stories told in the songs feel unfinished.
