Critic Reviews
Show All-
Rolling Stone
The sound on Baptized somehow links U2 to Rascal Flatts, adding Springsteen stances in “Wild Heart.”
-
Slant Magazine
That said, neither Baptized, nor the band who nominally co-authored it, were made for the critics.
-
POP! Goes the the Charts
They may be purified in pure pop on this release, but don’t count them out in this race; “it’s not over” for Daughtry on the charts… yet.
-
All Music
He's updated his sound just enough to stay relevant but, more importantly, he doesn't get in the way of a good tune.
-
Sputnik Music
No maturity to be seen here.
-
Markus' Heavy Music Blog
It’s mainstream, but it’s good. The album has some ups and downs but it's worth to check it. If you know the older Daughtry I recommend to listen to the album first. A small disappointment stays since the expectations have been higher.

News Day
Daughtry takes some cool chances on his fourth album, "Baptized"
-
The National
By and large, it’s a limp and rather cloying collection, although we can at least savour the irony of a talent-show survivor defending the ailing art form with a banjo stomp called Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll.
-
Renowned for Sound
Overall, Baptized is a little different for people that have followed the post-grunge roots from Daughtry’s previously released albums but in all honesty, it really does illustrate the hard work and effort put into this album and Martin Johnson should be credited for helping the band successfully reach that strong pop rock focus in this album.
-
MIMO
Baptized isn’t a bad album. Just don’t call it rock and roll.
-
Vulture Hound
Baptized is classic rock but with a pop edge. Its subtle, its lyrical and moving.
-
Rock Topia
‘Baptized’ smacks of panic and seeks to capitalize on the mainstream success of bands within the pop genre.
-
Female First
Daughtry were brave to try something else here, but whether or not it was the right decision to make is up for debate.
-
Audio Breakdown
If there was anything unfavourable about this album, you might say it was the fact that a few of the stories told in the songs feel unfinished.

Tempelores Magazine
All in all “Baptized” is a beautiful album that can be heard at all times, everywhere and with everybody. So go get the new Daughtry album now.
