Critic Reviews
Show All-
Taste of Country
Rascal Flatts call Back to Us a return to their roots, but sonically their newest studio album is quite progressive. They're not as experimental, but nothing about the songs screams early 2000s radio.

Sounds like Nashville
Rascal Flatts return to their roots with their tenth studio album, Back to Us. The country trio are well known for their spot-on harmonies, impressive guitar skills and energetic live show and their latest effort showcases the best of each of these qualities.

Sputnik Music
The award winning country trio returns to their roots, while savoring every chance to experiment, resulting in one of their best projects to date.
-
RoughStock
Rascal Flatts’ is an album filled with sounds we’ve come to expect from this trio. Even though they had help from topnotch writers, like Chris Stapleton and Dan + Shay, this tenth studio release somehow lacks that ‘wow’ factor. It’s good, but not exactly great.
-
The Young Folks
f I had to sum up Back to Us – the tenth album by Rascal Flatts – in one word, it’s lazy. There is nothing new on the album. Likewise, there is nothing challenging, few things interesting, and even fewer things engaging.
-
The Boot
Rascal Flatts' new album is named Back to Us; it takes its name from one of the tracks on the record, but also speaks to what DeMarcus describes as a "feeling that has been building around this new music."

The Morning Call
Rascal Flatts at Allentown Fair: What hurts the most is how musical tastes change with time.
-
Cryptic Rock
Do you seek hope, love, nostalgia, and a reason to dance in the summer sunshine? All things appetizingly harmonic and melodic, Rascal Flatts’ are back with the upbeat Back To Us, which arrives May 19, 2017, via Big Machine Records.

Building Our Own Nashville
Back To Us does not disappoint, it is mostly a typical Rascal Flatts album with introductions to a newer, fresher and younger sound.

Rascal Flatts Reminisce About the Past on ‘Back to Us’

Your Life in a Song
Back To Us’ sees most-awarded country group Rascal Flatts returning to their roots, pushing for that distinctive Flatts pop-country sound that fans fell in love with over a decade ago.
-
All Music
If the title of Back to Us suggests that the three members of Rascal Flatts have decided to ditch everything extraneous and return to their roots, well, that's intentional.

Rolling Stones
LeVox is in great voice here, reminding listeners why he and the band are often cited as influences by today’s young guns, from Dan + Shay to Hunter Hayes.
