Though he no longer has the ‘It” factor that he once had, you have to love the fact that he believes relying on his truth can carry him to the finish line of albums.

In my opinion, “Anniversary” was not Tiller’s best work in comparison to his former album. Nonetheless, he is an exceptional artist that has made great music and will continue to do so because of his talent.

Overall, I can’t say that I am incredibly happy with the album. It’s a good album, but it didn’t really meet the hype I had for it.

Seeing as Anniversary was certainly a step up from True To Self, we have high hopes that any music Tiller does decide to grace us with will continue propelling the Louisville crooner’s sound, style, and legacy forward.

Overall, this album is amazing as a standalone body of work but is overshadowed by its predecessors. None of the songs “A N N I V E R S A R Y” are bad whatsoever. I believe that every song has its own time and setting to be played. Only time will tell how this album ages in the eyes of the public.

If True to Self was bloated then Anniversary feels more like an EP. On one hand, the conciseness of the project prevents it from having a lasting impression. However, brevity may be due to a lack of substance.

As the sample and piano flutter us out of Anniversary, we feel like we have our current musical safety net. Thanks Bryson.

If 2020 was in need of anything, it’s this album. Tiller has the uncanny ability to tap into emotions long forgotten or capture feelings not yet experienced, and he does it best on Anniversary.

It’s simply the ribbon-cutting ceremony that precedes what one can only hope is an upcoming stellar body of work. Bryson found his footing in the industry five years ago, and though he lost it for a short moment, the Louisville native returns the hope that it’s continued presence is a bit more permanent. It’s all he and his fans could hope for.

Tiller’s new album sounds as if it was created to be a soundtrack to late nights. While releases from him don’t come by nearly as often as much of his fanbase would love for them to, his efforts are only appreciated that much more when he does release a project. While there’s a chance that we won’t have to be waiting nearly as long for his fourth LP, we’ll be eager for any new music he blesses us with.
