As far as generic hair-metal albums go, this one is alright. If you're really into that type of music, then you should get this album and prosper with it.

Mark's Record Reviews
Business as usual 80s metal. Some catchy riffs here and there, but no Vinnie Vincent nor Ace Frehley

Although a commercial success, Animalize was not nearly as strong as its two predecessors.

2016 - Overall, I love the album and it was my summer soundtrack in 1987 (I know, but I was a late KISS starter). Enjoy the memories and don’t be too hard on a record that was challenging for band and fans alike!

Mike Ladano
The Animalize period put Kiss on MTV and on back the radio again, but its success was vastly disproportional to its quality.

Metal Excess
A very good album but I can see why others would be quick to point out its faults.

Play it Loud!
I find Animalize to be a very good KISS album, and I prefer it over its two predecessors; Creatures Of The Night and Lick It Up.

All TIme Records
Nothing strikes me as terribly memorable.

Puffy's Movie Mania
2015 - not very appealing or enjoyable.
