Show All-
Rolling Stone
2008 - Along Came a Spider may not feature the arena jams of days of yore, but in terms of sheer sadistic wit, it proves Cooper’s still quick with a flick of the tongue.
-
Goldmine
2008 - With the venomous bite of the guitars here, Alice has never sounded more creepy or scary. Welcome back to the nightmare.
-
Metal Forces
2008 - What is truly impressive here is how Cooper (who is now 60 years young) remains relevant in a music scene that is spinning out of control.
-
The Guardian
2008 - it's as close to his 70s heyday as Cooper has come in decades, the metal guitars glinting against a wash of soaring pop choruses
-
All Music
fanatics will gush as Alice once again acts as host and narrator and revives the character Steven, the young boy who broke all his toys on Nightmare
-
IGN
2008 - shines with several solid-rocking songs
-
Metal Reviews
it really took shape as a great Alice Cooper album and with the kind of conceptual horror-based theme that has always found a home within his music
-
Sleaze Roxx
2008 - a great album. One of Alice Cooper‘s better albums, it is by far the best album released in 2008. Chock full of catchy songs and an engaging story
-
Blabber Mouth
yet another example of an album made by an elder rock icon that manages to sound fresh and relevant in 2008. If it is Rock Theater that you seek, then ALICE COOPER is your ticket to ride.
-
Consequence of Sound
2008 - Spider climbs the water spout with a few gems on its back, but departs quite quickly
-
Antimusic
What is scary is just how good Alice Cooper still is thirty years after his riotous rise to the top of the rock heap.
-
Trajectory Metal
I really REALLY liked Along Came a Spider
-
Icon vs Icon
2008 - a good album that delivers a great story
-
Juke Box Metal
It all sounds like a perfect premise for another classic Alice album, but unfortunately it doesn't quite live up to the promise.
-

"Along Came A Spider" is definitely worth a listen. ... Other than that, everyone else who likes 80’s style hard rock (or any song that has ever appeared on a version of guitar hero) will love this album.

Mark's Record Reviews
So keep up the good work, Alice Cooper!
-
Don Ignacio
Sure, the quality of songwriting was hit-or-miss, but at least there was tons of diversity!
-
Rough Edge
renewed my faith in the man who's been at the top of the rock'n'roll heap for a long, long time and doesn't look like he's going down anytime soon
-
Metal Storm
does the best job of re-creating the sound and feeling of the original band's classic material
-
Louder Sound
Spider’s got a couple all-star cameos (Slash, Ozzy) and while his band is tight, Spider just sorta hovers there, going through the motions, not nearly as outrageous or as weird or as rocking as it should be.
-
30 Days Out
much of Along Came A Spider is at least as listenable as much of today’s best metal
-
Mountain King Music
This time around, though, he nails it.
-
Hard Rock Hideout
The sounds on Along Came A Spider is a pretty good balance of 70’s era Alice Cooper mixed with 80’s and 90’s style rock.
-
Metal Odyssey
Musically, this album is pure Metal, with a supporting cast of the very finest
-
Bullz Eye
His storytelling and apocalyptic visions for Brutal Planet and Dragontown were perfect foils for the industrial metal grooves.
-
Alice Cooper eChive
2008 - With a slew of hollow and bone-chilling sounds accompanied by the electric essence of guitar that made Cooper renowned today, this latest album is just creepy, in a good way.
-
Pop Culture Christ
2008 - There’s some great tracks on here and overall it is a very solid album.
