ALIVE II
| KissALIVE II
Alive II is the second live album (and eighth overall) by American hard rock band Kiss, released on October 14, 1977 by Casablanca Records. The band had released three albums (Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over, and Love Gun) since the previous live outing, the 1975 release Alive!, and the band drew upon the variety of new tracks, with Eddie Kramer producing. -Wikipedia
Critic Reviews
Show All-
Starling
The good news is that there is absolutely no overlap with Alive!: all the performances are taken from the recent three albums, and even if this probably makes the record somewhat less full and rounded-out than its predecessor

Mark's Record Reviews
not only does this one not contain any of the same songs as the first one, it doesn't even contain any songs at ALL from the first three albums!
-
Don Ignacio
Not that those songs are masterpieces or anything, but they are decent moments that give the heavy electric guitar a bit of a break.
-
Sleaze Roxx
Alive II pretty much marked the zenith of KISS’ superpowers with the amazing Double Platinum and solo albums to follow.
-
All Music
Three sides were recorded live in concert at the Los Angeles Forum (with a few tracks recorded in Japan), while the fourth side featured five new studio recordings. Like its predecessor, there's been quite a lot of speculation concerning extensive overdubbing ..., but Alive II shows that Kiss was still an exciting live band despite all the hype.

Rolling Stone
1978 - In a sort of Horatio Alger formula, if you need it badly enough and have the right attitude, eventually you’ll become an adequate rocker. Kiss, a band built almost entirely around an image, offers the latest proof of this maxim.
-
Mike Ladano
They had lots of material to work with, and so it was decided that Alive II would have no crossover with tracks from Alive!, a value-conscious move that fans appreciated.

2017 - This album provides a thrilling listen and stands as one of the finest live albums of the era.

Talking Metal
Regardless, the excitement of the period, and what it represents for many fans who lived the KISS experience at the time is clear: When the original KISS line-up reunited in 1996, they chose to visually mirror the part of their history represented by “KISS Alive II.” That speaks volumes..

2010 - It’s a tribute to a great band but yet it’s so much more. It not only captures the energy and greatness of KISS but it also captures the sense of humor of 4 KISS fans from Charlotte who get the joke themselves.

2017 - Spectacle, fire, blood, rock and roll! Kiss was very cool indeed!
