HipHop DX
Alfredo is a master class in rap — 35 minutes of cutthroat bars that feel like 15, leaving you hungry for another course. In a world where the basic function of waking up feels like a chore, Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist have served up a dish of quick comfort food packed with essential nutrients included, a surefire early candidate for album of the year.

Pitchfork
The gruff-voiced rapper and dusty-groove producer are a perfect match as they connect for a seamless ride to the heart of the gangster.
-
DJ Booth
Alfredo is well-rounded and sharp; an album with no skips served up by a rapper and producer who understand what it means to deliver a quality product. Alfredo is quality rap at its finest.

Legends Will Never Die
For this being the lyrical surprise album everyone was talking about dropping this week, it’s phenomenal. Probably Freddie’s best solo effort yet in my opinion. The production is phenomenal as we’d all expect from Uncle Al at this point & Freddie’s pen-game is just as gruesome as it was on Bandana.

The Line of Best Fit
It’s an incredibly tight record packed with stellar performances, production and presence throughout. The blood, sweat and tears of hip-hop run through the album, but Gibbs has once again redefined what that means.
-
Clash Music
‘Alfredo’ excels on every front, a record that fuses a thirst for fresh innovation with a depth of love for hip-hop and rap music that is almost unparalleled. Pretty much an instant classic, it’s the sound of Freddie Gibbs finally bursting free, working with tour de force production to surge past expectations and claim his place at the absolute pinnacle.
-
Magnetic Magazine
Alchemist and Freddie have been a winning combo for the past several years and Alfredo is another contender for rap album of the year.
-
Stereogum
A beautiful record that makes room for the ugliness that surrounds it.

Medium
Alfredo is an incredible project, a remarkable improvement upon Bandana (in my opinion), and one of my favourite hip-hop records of 2020 so far. Every single track feels memorable, enjoyable, and important in their own respective way. The amount of creativity and effort put into this album, from all who were involved, really shines through.

NPR
Soundtracked by one of Alchemist's best beats of 2020 so far, Gibbs suggests a revolution or all out war always seemed one move away. Together, they do in ten tracks what most rappers fail to do in twenty, leave you wishing for leftovers.

Treblezine
It’s taken long enough for this to happen, and this 35 minutes is rich and satisfying, yet effortless enough to feel like a single course of what could be a much bigger meal.

Riffs and Rhymes
Alfredo, is another slick and assertive offering in the coke-rap canon. It’s equally steeped in classic mafioso and contemporary gangsta themes and sounds – a lane over which both artists continue to exert stylistic ownership.
-
Hip Hop Golden Age
Alfredo is short, sharp, and punchy, with top-tier lyricism and songwriting from Freddie Gibbs, and a perfect collection of instrumentals from The Alchemist – 10 tracks, no filler, all killer. Alfredo is a keeper – no doubt Alfredo will stay in rotation for the rest of the year, and well beyond 2020 too.

Thirstkey
I'd say "Alfredo" feels like a spinoff to "Pinata" and "Bandana" but it's quality stands right beside them. (Or at least very close behind) Freddie and The Alchemist may not be MadGibbs but they've shown out as a dynamic duo in their own right. I hope this isn't the only project they make together.
-
Giglist
It’s a delicious blend of beats, samples, lyricism and flow, bound together by a tangible level of trust between the two artists. They’ve honed their craft to an absolute tee. Feed us more.
-
The Indiependent
The album provides the listener with an awakening, from placing attention on the pleasant sound of the music to the hard-hitting truth of its vocals. It is a call to arms by Gibbs to dismantle stigma surrounding ethnic minorities, through an unapologetic lullaby.

Certainly one of the current releases that will live past the year 2020, with a mention for the beautiful visual of the cover.

I don’t throw this saying around lightly, but because of all of these gourmet ingredients that make up Alfredo, I would argue that it will go down as a classic album in my opinion.
