A . K . A .
| Jennifer LopezA . K . A .
A.K.A. (an acronym for Also Known As) is the eighth studio album by American entertainer Jennifer Lopez. It was released on June 13, 2014, by Capitol Records. Lopez started working on the album in February 2013, after the end of her first worldwide tour, the Dance Again World Tour. Originally scheduled to be released in November 2013, Lopez postponed the album release to 2014. Undecided between Same Girl and A.K.A. as the album's title, Lopez eventually chose the latter as the title.-Wikipedia
Critic Reviews
Show All-
billboard
An eclectic mix of sounds ring throughout the set as she opts for a mix of urban tilting songs, pop ballads, and dance inducing knockouts.
-
ALL MUSIC
When the scale tips too heavily toward rhythm--as it does on "Booty" and "I Luh Ya Papi"--the productions don't do Lopez many favors, burying her in their thrum.
-
SLANT
includes a slew of mid-tempo ballads whose soaring hooks and slick production are wasted on Lopez’s reedy voice.
-
SPIN
‘AKA’ Is Mostly Mawkish Melodrama.
-
Boston Globe
There is one half of a solid album in A.K.A., Jennifer Lopez’s first new release in three years.
-
Daily News
A.K.A. finds J.Lo throwing anything she can at the wall to see what sticks.
-
RollingStone
Lopez supplements flat production from names like RoccStar with forgettable verses from rappers like T.I.
-
The Guardian
won't find much new here.
-
popMATTERS
A poor album due to poor production and song writing, poor sales and poor vocal delivery.
-

There’s just not a lot to luh here.

expected more from the global icon that is J-Lo.
-
THOMASBLEACH
Don’t expect anything life changing from “A.K.A” but prepare for a decent collection of tracks with a few needing the skip button.
-
RaheemDTV
lacks replay-ability.
-
SPECTRUM PULSE
She's capable of better music than this, and she shouldn't be reduced to singing songs about her ass with Pitbull in order to get a hit. Skip this.
-
Hollywood Life
Jennifer Lopez is back and better than ever!

Papis And Booties And Drag Queens, Oh My!
-

has decent songs, but brings nothing new to the table.
-
Entertainment & Stuff
This album is a great one. I may actually dare to call it one of 2014 best urban albums.
-
brent music reviews
Lopez has nothing more to prove – her peak has come and past. A.K.A. doesn’t necessarily enhance her career nor harm it.
-
album confessions
The album is a fun, personal, emotional experience that once again showcases an artistic reinvention while providing some radio-friendly beats for good measure.
-
POP Magazine
with few highlights and too many misses, A.K.A. would have been better off as a short-style EP.
-
reverb
A.K.A doesn’t do the pop idol justice.
-
vibe
It’s audible proof that she’s living la vida loca and loving it.
-
BE Magazine
An eclectic mix of sounds ring throughout the set as she opts for a mix of urban tilting songs, pop ballads, and dance inducing knockouts.
-
snap cackle pop
over produced tracks with awkward beats, forgettable raps or some very questionable lyrics, that make the album overall feel lost.
-
Drowned World
this is one of the worst albums I’ve listened to lately.
-
POP blogged through STAN eyes
Disappointing album.
-
DAILY BEAST
A.K.A. is, at best, a hodgepodge of rip-offs of other musicians’ styles and, at worst, just horribly bland.
