A . K . A .

A.K.A. (an acronym for Also Known As) is the eighth studio album by American entertainer Jennifer Lopez. It was released on June 13, 2014, by Capitol Records. Lopez started working on the album in February 2013, after the end of her first worldwide tour, the Dance Again World Tour. Originally scheduled to be released in November 2013, Lopez postponed the album release to 2014. Undecided between Same Girl and A.K.A. as the album's title, Lopez eventually chose the latter as the title.-Wikipedia

An eclectic mix of sounds ring throughout the set as she opts for a mix of urban tilting songs, pop ballads, and dance inducing knockouts.

When the scale tips too heavily toward rhythm--as it does on "Booty" and "I Luh Ya Papi"--the productions don't do Lopez many favors, burying her in their thrum.

  • SLANT

includes a slew of mid-tempo ballads whose soaring hooks and slick production are wasted on Lopez’s reedy voice.

Don’t expect anything life changing from “A.K.A” but prepare for a decent collection of tracks with a few needing the skip button.

She's capable of better music than this, and she shouldn't be reduced to singing songs about her ass with Pitbull in order to get a hit. Skip this.

Lopez has nothing more to prove – her peak has come and past. A.K.A. doesn’t necessarily enhance her career nor harm it.

The album is a fun, personal, emotional experience that once again showcases an artistic reinvention while providing some radio-friendly beats for good measure.

A.K.A. is, at best, a hodgepodge of rip-offs of other musicians’ styles and, at worst, just horribly bland.
