Critic Reviews
Show All-
The Guardian
. . . there's too much polished, overwrought, formulaic slop, with You Get Me's line about a "beautiful song you've heard a million times" containing more than a hint of irony.
-
PopMatters
Seal's sixth studio album is more of what is expected from this longtime artist who is too reluctant to leap out of his comfort zone.
-
Billboard
Taking subtle command over rich orchestrations that might overshadow another singer, Seal deftly showcases his still-formidable skills as a writer and vocalist.
-
AllMusic
If no one song grabs attention, there are no dips in mood or momentum, it maintains its luxurious hold from beginning to end.
-
Consequence of Sound
Seal floats back to the surface with new album.

Express
So with all the right ingredients why isn’t this album more interesting?

The Insiter
. . . after listening to the album several times, I can honestly say that very little stands out from the album. Nothing is really memorable and I don't find myself singing snippets of his latest album long after I've stopped listening to it.
