AXS
Chicken-N-Beer would prove to be Ludacris most consistent album, a record that finally had more hits than misses.

Sputnik Music
This is a near perfect mainstream rap album.

Rap Reviews
Take a bite and wash it down, but don't be surprised if the taste is so good you can't help hitting the buffet for seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths.
-
All Music
He may not be ready for that Pepsi spot (much less a shot at prime time), but Ludacris made the best record of his career with Chicken -N- Beer.
-
IGN
The thing with Ludacris is that his clever and humorous flow will work with virtually any type of music, whether it's a party tune, wannabe player/gangster/pimp anthem or what have you.
-
BBC
Ludacris is a breath of fresh air in the hip hop game, refusing (unlike some) to wear his wealth of street experience like a pimp-bold badge of honour.
-
Urban Smarts
So when you compare "Chicken-N-Beer" to what's successful in the mainstream rap right now, this should actually be adored.
-
HipHop DX
if mass appeal is what Ludacris is looking for, he’s definitely on the right track.
