Rolling Stone
November 1, 2005. Santana’s revolving door keeps on turning, and with every star who passes through to sing lead on a track off their latest album, what was once a great American band steps closer to becoming a permanent gimmick.

AllMusic
. . . All That I Am, like Supernatural and Shaman before it, is a deliberate pop album, which means Santana is in the background on his own record -- but the crucial difference with this album is that, unlike its two predecessors, it's not a good pop album, it's a bland, friendly affair that disappears into the ether the moment it's finishing playing.

The Guardian
October 27, 2005. The second album to try recreating the undeniable FM power of 1999's Supernatural, All That I Am doesn't quite match 2002's Shaman in the bewildering collaborator stakes . . . but it does pair Sean Paul with Joss Stone. For this duet to create dynamite chemistry would be a miracle and, despite everyone's best efforts, that miracle does not occur.

October 31, 2005. . . . England will next win the world cup before Santana becomes wholly Americanised, and true to form there are moments of fabulous Latino grooves to be found on occasions. Perhaps not what you would expect in places, this album shows an old master to be continually pushing and re-adapting the sound to which he can flourish.

BBC
November 1, 2005. Sadly too many tracks here feature one star or another which leaves a taste more like refried beans. Santana fills-in with similar-sounding solos, rather than directing proceedings.

Wilson & Alroy'S Record Reviews
The fill-in-the-blanks approach is discouraging, and the tunes aren't much better, . . . .Most irritating of all, there are just enough old fashioned Santana tunes (the rollicking "Hermes") to remind you how good Carlos can be when he's not so busy selling out.(DBW)

Ultimate Santana
Like the phenomenonally-successful Supernatural and the somewhat successful Shaman before it, Carlos Santana's All That I Am pairs the legendary guitarist with a number of artists in order to create a melange of songs. Not surprisingly, the effort didn't result in the same level of success of either of its predecessors.

The Great Albums
Unfortunately, Supernatural was such a hit that Santana and Arista Records kept repeating the exact same formula in an effort to reprise its success, and while Shaman was a worthy follow-up, All That I Am ends up feeling like one carbon copy too many.
