Against the Wind

Against the Wind is the eleventh studio album by American rock singer Bob Seger and his fourth with the Silver Bullet Band. It was released in February 1980. It is Seger's only number-one album to date, spending six weeks at the top of the Billboard Top LPs chart, knocking Pink Floyd's The Wall from the top spot.-"Wikipedia"

It sounds like a craven concession to commercial whims, but Seger was utterly deliberate about it, and applied the same level of hard work and songwriting craft to Wind's more radio-friendly cuts that he had to any of his rawer, rockier stuff.

Against the Wind finds Bob Seger turning toward craft. Compared to its predecessors, this does feel a little weak, but compared with its peers, it's a strong, varied heartland rock album that finds Seger at a near peak.
